Your Stay: Activities in the area
The local area boasts a wide range of activities, a few summarised below:
Mountain biking – the home of the world downhill championships, Morzine and Les Gets has a wide range of routes to challenge at all levels, all accessed by a comprehensive lift system that whisk you and your bike to the top of the circuits. Gentler mountain tracks are also accessible to enjoy the mountain scenery at a less frantic pace too! The circuit starts opposite the chalet.
Walking – Hundreds of well signposted routes to savour the mountain air and flora and fauna of the area. Again, walks start across the river opposite the chalet.
Swimming in the Olympic outdoor pool, luge and childrens pool (15 mins walk on the riverside pathway) or even in the lake at Lac Montriond.
Horse riding around Lac Montriond and Freteroles mountain passes.
Buggy riding, Horse drawn carts and carrousels for the young ones and a wide range of toy and souvenir shops in the centre of Morzine
Tennis – 15 well maintained courts including clay are available by the hour.
Golf – Les Gets 18 hole, Avoriaz 9 hole and the Evian Masters golf course are all within 30 minutes drive of the chalet.
As a fun day out, feed the goats and then lunch in the fantastic restaurants of the pretty Lindarets Goat Village high in the hills above the chalet.
Further afield are the glitzy towns of Thonon Les Bains and Evian on the shores of Lake Geneva, well worth a visit for that all important ‘people watching’ pastime in the numerous cafes. Samoens is also a gem with its pretty town streets and botanical gardens, accessed via a stunning mountain road with glorious views of Mont Blanc.
